I am a Mom of three kids, 13, 9, and 4. I didn’t start homeschooling with a plan...I started with a problem. My oldest, who was 6 at the time, was neurospicy and visually impaired, wasn’t getting the support she needed in school. The system failed her IEP, and after trying different educational models that didn’t work, I realized homeschooling was the only way to give her the support, flexibility, and understanding she deserved.

When I first dove in, I was naive. I didn’t realize how religious most homeschooling resources were, how limited and non-diverse the curriculum options were, and how hard it would be to find a community that reflected my values. So, I created a lot of my own materials—and co-founded a homeschool community that centers Black and Brown voices, teaches history from multiple perspectives, and prioritizes inclusivity.

With Secular Homeschool Revolution, I’m taking up space unapologetically. I wasn’t sure how a podcast would go, but it’s been well-received. Build it, and they will come—that’s been my experience. This is the space where progressive, secular homeschooling gets real, creative, and unapologetic.
